Tim Tebow: Denver Broncos Rookie Gets Haircut, Shows Humility

Dez Bryant, you should be taking notes after your refusal to carry a veteran’s shoulderpads during training camp.

Tim Tebow, the quarterback that manages to create opinions with each and every action, is at it again.

His hair this last week showed sports fans that not even the locks of the Denver Broncos’ new savior are sacred.

Tebow’s new look can’t really be called a good one by any stretch of the imagination. His hair legitimately looks like a monk’s tonsure. But while Tebow’s mile-high teammates were intent on hazing him and making him look ridiculous, they actually ended up doing him a favor.

The rookie quarterback has never been one to go back on his beliefs or his goals, a philosophy that remains evident throughout this training.

So when his teammates try to make him look like a monk, Tebow shows humility and understanding of his role. He goes along with it, unlike Bryant, the rookie wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys.

Could Tebow have refused this treatment? Absolutely.

He’s already a media superstar. His jersey sales have skyrocketed to number one in the entire NFL. He already has what seems like half of the country hanging on his every word.

He could have told his teammates to stop. But he didn’t.

Tebow’s goal now is to become the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos. Had he refused the traditional rookie hazing, he would have lost the respect of those same teammates from whom he will soon demand it.

For the rookie with the highest profile in the NFL, this is nothing more than a step in the right direction. Yet another day in the life.

But Tim, please, put on your helmet already.
