Terrell Owens in Cincinnati: 'Ochouno' and Ochocinco Will Succeed

Evan HigginsAug 8, 2010

Many NFL fans around the country are stating their opinion that receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens will not be able to coincide playing on the same team.

Many statements came from a ESPN.com live in-game chat, stating comments like "I can't wait until Owens and Ochocinco get in a fight."

Ochocinco and Owens have not only been two of the top receivers in the NFL for over a decade, but they have also been two of the most entertaining to watch.

The two have always been good friends, even commenting on how much they would like to play together some day. They got their wish.

Two of the most loud-mouthed, cocky players in the game playing on the same team, at the same position. From first look, this is a terrible idea.

But, the difference between Owens and Ochocinco compared to other "NFL Bad Boys" is that they don't get into legal troubles, they just look to entertain the crowd.

Many believe they will get into arguments about who's the "Batman" and who's the "Robin."

I believe that Owens realized that if he wanted a job this year, he would have to come to accept that he will have to be a number two receiver. This is Ochocinco's team, and Owens won't be Palmer's go-to-guy.

Cincinnati has always been a run-first team, but that's going to change now that they added so much talent at receiver this off season via free agency and the NFL Draft. Carson Palmer will have to learn to spread the offense, which I am confident he will be able to do.

When Ochocinco had TJ Houshmandzadeh lined up beside him at receiver, he was still able to put up good numbers, even though Houshmandzadeh had 90-plus catches in three consecutive seasons with Cincinnati.

I don't believe Owens will get as many as 90 catches this season, so Ochocinco should be just as content with the balls thrown to Owens as he was with Houshmandzadeh.

Both receivers should be able to put up numbers that they are satisfied with.

I don't expect Ochocinco and Owens to argue or fight. They have always had a close relationship, and will do fine playing side-by-side.
