2011 NFL Mock Draft: A Closer Look at Every First-Round Pick

Jessica WilliamsAug 8, 2010

Football season is right around the corner and that can only mean a few things: friends, food, libations and lengthy discussions over whose team will triumph over whom.

All arguments aside, there is always one thing all of us fans can a agree on, and that is disagreeing. Which is why I thought it would be fun to put the whole 2010 season behind us (Yes, I know it hasn't even started yet!) and concentrate on next year's draft.

Will Jake Locker really go as First Pick? Or will it be some random underdog no one ever saw coming?

Will one of the 2011 draft picks finally force Brett Favre to actually retire this time?

Will the Giants finally get the Linebacker I so desperately feel they need?

We won't actually know until next year, but in the mean time, lets pretend. Perhaps it will fill the void until the 2010 season starts.

So without further ado, my 2011 NFL Mock Draft Predicitons

The Buffalo Bills Select Jake Locker

1 of 33

Surprise, surprise, I (like everyone else) have Jake Locker pegged to go first in the 2011 NFL Draft.

The 6'3", 226 lbs, QB for Washington is ranked First overall and for good reason. He is on the watch list for both the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and the 2010 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.

The St. Louis Rams Select Christian Ponder

2 of 33

The 6'3", 227 lb, QB from Florida State is currently ranked as the 11th overall pick but rumor has it, he will be campaigning for the Heisman Trophy this year.

He has been named the 2010 ACC Preseason Player of the Year and is also on the watch lists of the 2010 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

The Cleveland Browns Select Pat Devlin

3 of 33

Devlin, a 6'4" 220 lb, QB from Delaware, is currently ranked 27th overall, which probably seems pretty low for a third pick, but this kid is seriously under rated.

He is the only FCS player to be named on the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list and was recently named on the 2010 Walter Payton Award watch list.

There is my select for the 2011 NFL Draft.

It is far fetched? Possibly.

Will any of these selections actually happen? I guess we will have to wait until 2011 NFL Draft to see.

Until then, enjoy 2010's NFL season, and please feel free to leave any questions, comments, concerns, or whathaveyous in my comment section.
