Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

 

 

Brad Bergesen, Baltimore Orioles:
Bergesen gave up one run on five hits with five K's in a seven-inning no-decision. He has allowed three runs in his last 14 innings to lower his ERA to 6.26.

 

 

Jeff Francoeur, New York Mets:
Francoeur went three-for-four with two runs (39) to raise his average to .241.

 

 

Clint Barmes, Colorado Rockies:
Barmes went three-for-four with a run to raise his average to .255.

 

 

Alexi Casilla, Minnesota Twins:
Alexi went two-for-five with four RBIs to raise his average to .272. Any value he has will be gone when Orlando Hudson returns from the DL.

 

 

Asdrubal Cabrera & Jayson Nix, Cleveland Indians:
Cabrera went three-for-four with a run and an RBI to raise his average to .271. Nix went three for 4 to raise his average to .235.

 

 

Geoff Blum, Houston Astros:
Blum went three-for-five, with two runs to raise his average to .269. He’s eight for 13 (.615) in his last five games.

 

 

Daniel Hudson, Arizona Diamondbacks:
Hudson gave up one run on three hits in 7-2/3 innings. He has allowed two runs in 15-2/3 innings in his two starts with Arizona. Overall he’s 3-1 with a 3.73 ERA.

 

 

Luke French, Seattle Mariners:
French gave up one run in eight innings to pick up  his first win of the year. He’s 1-2 with a 4.73 ERA.
