Tennessee Titans: Training Camp Offers Plenty of Position Battles
One of the most exciting parts of attending a training camp is witnessing the numerous position battles on the field.
At Titans training camp there are several key position battles going on, with the biggest one being at second-string running back.
It's really Javon Ringer's spot to lose, but he's got plenty of competition breathing down his neck.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Guys like LaGarrette Blount and veteran Alvin Pearman have great opportunities to show Jeff Fisher that they deserve to backup the NFL's leading rusher from a year ago.
The Titans rely heavily on the run game and it has become increasingly important to have two effective running backs. Almost all of last year's playoff teams had two dependable running backs.
Thanks to his seniority I think Ringer will ultimately win that battle.
Another big position battle is who will become the Titans fourth receiver? There's plenty of candidates for this position.
Third-round pick Damian Williams out of Southern California has the best chance at claiming that spot. However, Lavelle Hawkins and Paul Williams have been in the Titans offensive system for a few seasons now so they could very easily win that spot over in training camp.
The Titans have always notoriously struggled in the passing game so picking the right guy to help out Kenny Britt, Justin Gage, and Nate Washington is more important than you may think.
If Damian Williams has an impressive preseason then I think you have to give him the opportunity to shine considering how high you drafted him.
What might be more important than any other position battle in training camp is who is going to line up opposite of Cortland Finnegan at corner back.
The Titans secondary ranked 31st in passing yards allowed in 2009.
Currently this is a three-way battle between Jason McCourty, Ryan Mouton, and rookie Alterraun Verner.
McCourty starts off as the favorite heading into the preseason since he got to start three games last season, most notably the disaster game at New England.
Don't sleep on Ryan Mouton getting the starting role by the beginning of the regular season. He's looked impressive in training camp up to this point and had two starts as a rookie.
Other position battles include right defensive end, third-string quarterback, and the all-important kick returner.
