Dallas Cowboys Training Camp Injury Report: August 6th
The Cowboys were enjoying a week of returning players and no injuries but during yesterday's practice Marcus Spears and Alex Barron were injured and one could prove to be serious.
Defensive end Marcus Spears sprained his left MCL Thursday when a player rolled on Spears leg during a running play. The Cowboys have said that the early diagnosis will put Spears out of action for 4-6 weeks making him the second player in as many weeks to suffer a month long injury.
Spears has never missed a game in his five years as a Cowboy proving that if nothing else he stays on the field. Backups Jason Hatcher (who just came back from injury this week) and Stephen Bowen will get the reps while Spears is out.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Spears will want to comeback asap as he could be in danger of losing his starting job to Hatcher (who will make more than Spears this season) if he has a good preseason.
Backup Alex Barron, who is having a solid preseason, appeared to have dislocated a finger on his left hand. However Barron participated in Friday's walk through, and will play on Sunday night against the Bengals.
Barron is expected to backup Doug Free this season and also be a swing tackle, replacing anyone else on the line who becomes injured.
Behind him is this year's sixth round pick Sam Young and second year player Robert Brewster, who sat out all of last year due to a torn pectoral.
Safety Pat Watkins (Knee) is still listed as day-to-day but has not practiced since July 29th.
The Cowboys did have some good news this week as linebacker Sean Lee (quad) and safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (shoulder) returned to practice on Wednesday. It's unclear however if they will play in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday.
Wade Phillips said that Owusu-Ansah might not see action until the third preseason game as he gets used to playing again after missing all OTAs and minicamps along with the first two weeks of training camp.
Linebacker Anthony Spencer didn't finish practice on Wednesday because of a bruised achillies. He did however return on Thursday and participated in all drills.
