NFL Two-a-Days: New York Jets Season Preview
If you have missed this series so far, I have previewed the Ravens, Bears, Dolphins, Falcons, Patriots, and Steelers. This idea came from ESPN's Mike & Mike, as I'm even using the same format. Right now, It's time to take a look at the New York Jets.
1. Can Mark Sanchez Build on Last Year's Good Playoff Showing?
I've already been bashed because in the Dolphins preview I said I'd take Sanchez over Chad Henne. Mark Sanchez played very well in the AFC Championship against the Colts. The interceptions should come down from last year's total, since he was a rookie. Santonio Holmes should help his progression as well.

2. Can the Additions of LaDainian Tomlinson and Santonio Holmes Make the Jets' Offense Dangerous?
This partly depends on the development of Mark Sanchez. I'm not sure about LT, he's over thirty and has showed many signs of slowing down. The running game scares me, as Shonn Greene did prove to be injury prone in his rookie year. When Holmes returns from his four-game suspension, he may become the number one target in the Jets offense.
3. Is the Jets Defense Really the Best in the NFL?
If Revis Island is locking down one side of the field, yes. Rex Ryan has done a great job of putting this group together, but credit also needs to be given to Eric Mangini for some of the personnel. Jason Taylor should help this team as a 3-4 rush linebacker and a 4-3 defensive end. Antonio Cromartie has tons of potential, if he gives 100 percent effort.
4. Are the Jets the Favorite to Win the AFC East?
With all due respect to the New England Patriots, who I would never count out of anything, I'm picking the Jets to win this division.
5. Record?
I hate to continue to parrot Mike & Mike, but I'm going to go with 11-5, winners of the AFC East.
Here is a link to Mike & Mike's page on ESPN.com, you can check out their opinion on the Jets. Later today I will preview the Minnesota Vikings.
