NFL Predictions for 2010 Season: New York Jets Game-By-Game Analysis
The defensive back pictured will sign a contract extension, or they will tear that one up and write a new one.
Darrelle Revis is probably worth the money he wants, as it seems like their are plenty of dogs out there that do not perform on that high pay scale level.
Season predictions so far are Oakland at 8-8 with a yes on fan approval.

Next was Dallas predicted to win the division at 12-4 to 11-5. Yes on fan approval.
New England was predicted to fall to 10-6 this season, and barely miss the playoffs. I'm sure you know the fan reaction on this one.
That was a big no. I did mention some games I had them losing that they could win and easily go 11-5 and make the playoffs, but they hate me, anyway. LOL.
San Francisco was picked to finally win that division at 9-7 to maybe 10-6. 11-5 might be pushing it for this team.
Pittsburgh came out just like New England, as I have them at 10-6 needing to beat Miami or New Orleans on the road to perhaps get that record playoff bound at 11-5.
That brings us to the New York Jets 2010 game-by-game regular season breakdown.
The first game of the season pits the Jets against the Ravens in New York.
This should be an all out war, as many people have chosen the Jets or the Ravens to be Super Bowl bound. I for one, don't see enough change anywhere to boot Peyton Manning or Drew Brees out of the running to repeat the trip.
The Ravens and Jets defenses will attempt to get the kinks out quickly, as the Ravens have added choices at wide receiver with Anquan Boldin now a great option for Joe Flacco.
The Jets of course booted Thomas Jones out, instead of giving him a raise and went with the second year player from Iowa, Shonn Greene. LaDainian Tomlinson will also be a threat as a second option early in the season if healthy.
He may wear down however and Greene will be carrying the full load.
Flacco is better then Sanchez at this stage, and the defense will probably cancel this one out. A Boldin long touchdown may be it in this one. Jets 0-1.
Week two brings the Patriots calling and the Jets pretty hungry to get a win on the board.
I believe I have the Patriots barely beating Cincinatti at home, and then losing this one to start at 1-1, coincidentally the same as the Jets lose to the Ravens, then take care of business at home. 1-1 now for the Jets.
This really is a must win for New York early, if it wants to win this division as I, and a few others have predicted in 2010. It all starts or ends here.
Week Three has the Jets finally on the road where they tangle with some new firepower for the Miami offense with Brandon Marshall. The Jets should lose a close one here and scurry home 1-2.
Week Four is yet another division game that they come away with in Buffalo, then return home at an even 2-2 for the sesaon. with a record of 2-1 in division play.
The next week has turned into a small mystery as Brett Favre may or may not be back.
The Jets can beat a Tavaris Jackson/Sage Rosenthals Vikings team to move to 3-2 for the season. That is also going to be a win for New England, I imagine when they play Minnesota as well. Both teams that play the Vikings benefit from this news.
The bar was just moved up a tad, as Minnesota is not viewed a threat to good teams with that quarterback situation. Note: Jackson or Rosenthals may have learned a bit, in Favre's short tenure.
Adrian Peterson can still change games, and having him on the roster goes a long way. Still the Vikings will have to show people they can throw the ball downfield without Favre if that is the case.
Week Six puts the Jets on the road facing the Denver Broncos.
This Denver plan is a trainwreck, and they will wallow in mediocrity until the coach is fired. None of the moves this team has made feel right lately. Tim Tebow even, won't beat the Jets. This should be a good work-out in the light air is all.
Now the Jets are 4-2 as they enter their bye week to adjust, rest and heal and get starters back that may be out for one reason or another.
The schedule right now has not been overly difficult with the Patriots and Dolphins playing harder games, plus being downright ill prepared for the ferocity of the Ravens this season.
New England could beat the Jets and the Vikings, and be looking for sure at 11-5 this season, but I have gone out on a limb calling the Jets a winner in that first game between the two teams.
In Week Eight of the schedule the Packers are visiting the Jets, and the way people talk, Green Bay will be undefeated, and unstoppabe.
Probably not all that drama quite yet for Packer fans, but still the Packers could be very very good this season. The Jets will take a hit here, for a home loss. 4-3 now.
Week nine, however they should rebound againt the Detroit Lions in an easier road game than some in this league. Now things are taking shape for a playoff run at 5-3 now.
The Jets must beat Detroit and Cleveland on the road, to avoid what happened to the Steelers last year, when they lost to teams people thought they should beat in Oakland, Kansas City, and Cleveland.
All these teams are improving and will shock a couple of opposition fan bases in 2010 in some way.
After a couple of easier games hopefully, with Detroit and Cleveland, the Jets return home to face the Houston Texans who are at a crossroads in the franchise's short history.
Houston had their best season ever last year, posting a winning record, but missing the playoffs.
Now they must get even better, as they cross the final frontier between time and space, The NFL Playoffs. The Jets will defend this teams pass attack and stuff the three running back attack, if three are left by now.
The Jets are now looking at 7-3 with a win at home against the Texans. If the Patriots take them at home or they lose to a team they are supposed to beat like Detroit or Cleveland this changes right up to 6-4.
I will stay with the thought that this schedule is not that difficult and they can be 7-3.
The next game is pretty important as T.O. and Ocho Cinco come to town with playoff ideas of their own in mind. The Bengals should be just as good as last season, if not better.
The Jets will have more to lose in this contest and won't lose this game and their playoff hopes here as they find a way to beat this team and reach 8-3, where they reached two years ago with Favre before the Brett meltdown.
The Jets play New England on Monday Night in Week 13, and I have them splitting this season, so this one goes to the Patriots. 8-4 for the Jets now.
Now the Jets must hopefully be firing on all cylinders even after the loss on Monday Night Football to the rival Patriots.
Week 14 finds the Jets hosting the Dolphins in a very interesting contest now. I have not looked at the Dolphins schedule, but am thinking they will get a wild card this season.
The Jets win this one at home and split with the Dolphins for the season to reach a decent 9-4 for the 2010 campaign.
Week 15 is a trip to hell, namely Pittsburgh in December with the defense laying hits on you in that crisp, cold weather. The Steelers win this game, or probably have playoff problems of their own.
The Jets are at a comfortable 9-5 now with two games left against Chicago in the windy city, which has to be won, and Buffalo to finish the season at home.
Obviously they could lose to Chicago, but should not. I am thinking. Buffalo has to be a win.
That gets the Jets to 11-5. New England could also be at 11-5 with a win against the Favreless Vikings.
I do have the Patriots at 10-6, but heck, the Jets could easily end up 10-6 as well, so maybe there will be a tie-breaker involved this season.
The Dolphins will be interesting as far as what the schedule lays out for them this season. I am curious as well, so I will check out the Dolphins itinerary soon.
Will all these teams be 11-5 or 10-6. Hmmm. as Artie Shaw on Laugh-in used to say: very interesting.
Humbly Yours, Thomas [NFL Mikee] Moreland
