Fernando Torres Commits to Liverpool
Liverpool fans have finally heard the words they wanted to hear - Fernando Torres is happy at the club and isn't looking to move.
Speculation had been rife that the striker was on the lookout for a new club after the Anfield side failed to qualify for this season's Champions League.
The World Cup meant he didn't have chance to make an immediate decision about his future, and it's likely the appointment of Roy Hodgson delayed things again - Torres would have wanted to get to know his new manager before committing himself.
Now though, he has revealed he will be staying at the club as they attempt to get things back on track after an awful season. The development should boost their latest Premier League odds.
Torres said: "My commitment and loyalty to the club and to the fans is the same as it was on my first day when I signed.
"I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.''
Perhaps the final thing that convinced the Spaniard to stay put was the news that the club are currently considering a number of bids, meaning their unpopular American owners could be gone before the new season starts.
Chinese businessman Kenny Huang currently looks the favourite to take control of the side and has promised to provide Hodgson with a massive transfer kitty.
Still, despite the good news they still don't look like Premier League best bets.
But, after a tough few months, things are finally looking up for Liverpool, although it remains to be seen if this good news will translate to results on the pitch.
