Philadelphia Eagles Facts of Life: Two More Birds Drop in Practice
It's been just two days of training camp since the pads went on and the team conducted hitting drills, and already, key players are being injured according to Jeff McLane of Philly.com.
It started with WR DeSean Jackson needing to be carted off the field with what is now being reported as back spasms, and LB Stewart Bradley encountered a pulled hamstring.
Now, just today both starting CB Asante Samuel and newly acquired backup RB Mike Bell have battle wounds of their own; both players needed a cart to make their way off the field.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
My question is this, is it simply that players are not completely stretched before participating in practice? Are they not hydrated enough?
What exactly is forcing these players to sustain such needless, yet sometimes unavoidable injuries?
Are they overworked during these grueling practices? How about the fact that training camp is starting its second week and the players just might not be in football shape yet—"yet" being the keyword!
I feel confident the players are just reaquainting themselves with the football way of life, and as camp continues, hopefully we'll see he injuries begin to deminish.
However, that rarely happens. Generally teams and fans begin to see the injuries occuring once the position battles are in full swing and players are giving it their all to win a job, not the second day of contact though.
Whatever the situation may be, it is a growing problem around the entire leauge and players are missing valuable time when they do get injured, but also creates weak spots for teams to focus on—we all know it happens.
Barry Rubin and Ken Croner are the Philadelphia Eagles new Strength and Conditioning coaches and now have their work cut out for them to get these injured players back on the field as quickly as they can.
It is up to everyone involved to make sure they are as healthy as possible, from the strength and conditioning coaches, the front office, and each player to take the proper precautions to avoid these pesky, yet potentially nagging injuries!
