Arsenal News: Jack Wilshere Must Stay With Gunners
Jack Wilshere has been biting his time and waiting for his opportunity with Arsenal, and the time has finally come.
The little Englishman is a much improved footballer after his spell at Bolton last season. His dribbling ability has improved and his first touch is class. He is a top player, always aware of who is around him.
Wilshere is much more effective in central midfield than on the wings. His ability to control the ball and find a team mate effectively has been impressive. But his real test will come through the Emirates Cup, if he can survive that, I am sure Arsene Wenger will keep him at the club.
Frimpong and Emmnuel-Thomas
Two more youngsters who have caught the eye in pre-season are Emmanuel Frimpong and Emmanuel-Thomas. Frimpong plays as a defensive midfielder and is built like a wall. He is strong, powerful, and not afraid to get stuck in.
Emmanuel-Thomas is tall, powerful, and good with his feet. Reminds you of anyone? He could become our next Adebayor. He uses his strength well and caused some headaches for defenders. He can dribble too and hold the ball before bring other players in.
Defensive concerns
Koscielny looks to be another gem of a signing. He is quick and strong. He has admitted to relishing the physical side of the game which is good. But again, his real test will be on Saturday against AC Milan.
Djourou has been very good in pre-season. He is always there at the right time and this is a good sign after Sol Campbell left the club for Newcastle. However, he went off injured in the last game. Again his fitness could become a problem for Arsenal unless they sign another defender.
The Gunners lost three experienced defenders this summer and have not got anyone in with that champions league experience. It is crucial that a top defender is drafter in. To challenge for the title, you must be solid at the back. At the moment, we are lacking in defense.
