The Bengals had given Owens a deadline of Wednesday to take the deal. Late interest from the New York Jets may have delayed the process a bit, although the Jets never extended a formal offer to Owens.

The signing of Owens is likely to make the Bengals one of the more entertaining teams in the NFL.
Teamed with Chad Ochocinco, Owens will provide a reliable target for Carson Palmer and could flourish in a reduced role.
