Late Night Sunday Thoughts On Canucks

Joseph TrentonJul 25, 2010

Tonight, I have some thoughts about the Canucks, that I regularly will begin to post to you on BleachersReport.

Looking back at the Canucks off-season acquisitions, the team is moving in a different direction this year: Getting Younger, and steadier.

Here is what they have let go:

Goaltender Andrew Raycroft

Goalie Consultant Ian Clark

Here is what they acquired:

Defenseman Dan Hamhuis

Defenseman Keith Ballard

Forward Manny Malhotra

Forward Jeff Tambellini

Forward Joel Perrault

Forward Victor Oreskovich

Goaltender Cory Schneider (from Manitoba Moose)

Goalie Coach Roland Melanson

ps. Mason Raymond arbitration hearing tomorrow. JP Barry vs. Mike Gillis. The two old school friends are going to be competing against one another again, after the Mats Sundin saga, the Sedins signing, and now Raymond. Look for a 1 or 2-year deal worth a total in the range of 7-9 million. Very nervous times. Sami Salo's off-season injury suddenly became blessing in disguise.
