Randy VillarbaJul 17, 2010

Breathe it in; take a look at that photo. England international Joe Cole in red. Cole may be wearing something similar looking this season, maybe with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' across his chest.

A recent report from the News of the World is claiming Liverpool has offered Joe Cole £4.7 million a year, offering £90k a week and a significant signing bonus.

Roy Hodgson has confirmed he has spoken to Joe Cole, but played down talk he is on the verge of joining Liverpool.

Cole lining up along side Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, and Alberto Aquilani feeding, Fernando Torres, Milan Jovanovich or perhaps a striker to be named soon... that starting side looks as fierce as it sounds. This concept was once considered a longshot. Many could not see Cole leaving London at all. For the past few weeks the former Chelsea midfielder had strongly been linked with the other London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

If you look at the bookies and odds recently, Cole has shot up to an 8/11 favorite to line up at Anfield this coming season. Follow the money. The bets on Cole have sky rocketed so quickly that odds makers have suspended the ability to lay down a bet on where Cole is heading. There are a lot of people that know something about Cole and Liverpool.

"I'm not a betting man so that doesn't actually play a big part that betting is suspended," Roy Hodgson told Sky Sports News"As far as I know, Joe Cole is still a player looking for a club. I know we've been connected with him and it's good to know."

Liverpool seem to be a more attractive destination for Cole now that Roy Hodgson has grabbed the helm at Anfield.

Liverpool faithful are holding their breath that their managing director Christian Purslow can lure Cole on a free transfer.
