Timothy Bradley and Alfredo Angulo Headline Boxing After Dark
This Saturday, July 17, HBO Boxing After Dark returns with two of the most exciting rising stars of the sport.
First, fan favorite Alfredo “Perro” Angulo 18(15)-1 takes on former middleweight champion Joachim Alcine 32(19)-1 in what should be an explosive slugfest at junior middleweight scheduled for 10 rounds.
Angulo is still riding high with his big KO win over Joel Julio in April.
Then in the main event, undefeated American Timothy Bradley 25(11)-0 makes his debut on HBO, moving up in weight for a welterweight showdown with undefeated top rated Argentinean contender Luis Carlos Abregu 29(23)-0.
Bradley, known as the “Desert Storm,” storms his opponents with lightning speed and relentless pressure. Abregu is also a fast big puncher who gets stronger as the final rounds go on.
How good of a fight night will this card be? Well, it will be so good that I will suck it up and tolerate the 114-degree Rancho Mirage weather this weekend and see the fight live from the Agua Caliente Casino.
Both Angulo and Bradley are from local Rancho Mirage, neighboring areas in Coachella and Palm Springs, so they are accustomed to the extreme hot temperatures that this weekend will bring.
Hopefully just as hot as the weather will be this weekend, the real fire will be in the ring as these fighters co-headline HBO’s Boxing After Dark.
