Former Duke star Jon Scheyer knows that if he is going to join the Three Kings in Miami, he is going to have to shed blood, sweat, and tears.

Turns out, he took that in the literal sense.

In last night's game for the Heat's summer team, Scheyer shed his share of blood as he took a strong elbow to the face.

Jon was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. All reports from the Heat and Scheyer camp are saying that Scheyer suffered a lacerated eyelid. The injury is not expected to keep him out of a lot of action, if any.

Jon has been doing everything in his power to make this Heat team.

On July 11, he took the floor and played well. He scored 11 points in 29 minutes, including a dagger of a three-pointer that cemented the win for his Heat team.

At this point in time, many experts give Scheyer a good chance at making this team.

More to come on this injury and the development of Scheyer and his hopes of becoming a staple of this organization.
