A fantasy football cheatsheet is only as good as the people putting them together. Basically what they are is a glorified player ranking system. Sometimes they will include projections and other times just a little bit about the player and at other times just a simple position by position ranking system.
Whatever it includes and whatever way they are done, you need to know that they will be helpful and not hurtful. This means knowing that the people preparing it have been proven winners and know what they are doing.
Some websites only update their rankings every week or even every month. This means they have people who are injured or benched still ranked where they were originally, meaning if you’re using those rankings you can get devastated at your draft. If you are going to use a fantasy football cheatsheet, be sure they are updated often and they are prepared by someone who knows what they are doing. I dominated in two leagues last year, just I have done 10 out of the last 11 seasons. When you come across websites who have people doing cheatsheets with a resume like that, then you should be in good hands.
Many fantasy football cheatsheets are prepared by people who are getting paid for this as part of their job, and really don’t have a clue as to what they are doing. If I had a dime for every ESPN,FOX Sports, and Yahoo fantasy football “expert” who actually ever won a championship and knew what they were talking about, I might be able to buy a cup of coffee, a cheap one, if I was lucky.
So remember, cheatsheets aren’t a bad thing, but it’s usually just a fancy name for player rankings. Getting a fantasy football cheatsheet with projections isn’t bad, but it could be just a little bit too much information. After all, you do need time to sleep and eat and draft. The important thing is getting your cheatsheet or rankings from a reliable source.
Your draft is where you will build the basis of your team for the season. A poor fantasy football cheatsheet could lead to a weak spot on your roster, which could make all the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
Are you a fantasy football fan or fanatic? You decide.
