WWE Money in The Bank Preview and Predictions by The Dude

The Doctor Chris MuellerJul 13, 2010

The WWE's first-ever Money in the Bank (MITB) pay-per-view is right around the corner. With WWE building heavily around the two ladder matches, who will come away with guaranteed title shots at a time of their choosing?

The WWE Divas title will be on the line when Alicia Fox takes on Eve Torres in another rematch. These two faced off two weeks ago in a rematch when Alicia Fox faked an ankle injury to gain a win over Eve.

Eve was on commentary last night and made it clear that she is looking to regain her title. I don't see Eve getting the belt back after such a short reign by Fox. Then again Fox has proven how weak she is as an in-ring performer over the last few weeks so anything is possible.

Her Axe kick looks very sloppy and most of the time she doesn't even connect in the right place.

Surprisingly, the WWE Women's title is also on the line. I can't remember the last PPV that had two women's matches on the card. Layla will be defending against Kelly Kelly.

Since Layla and Michelle McCool are co-champions, I wonder what will happen if Kelly wins the match. I don't see WWE taking the gold of Laycool since they are pros on NXT to Kaval right now. I like Kelly but she has never broken through for me as a solid performer despite great effort on her part.

The Hart Dynasty will defend the Unified Tag Titles against The Uso brothers. This feud has been working to a boiling point for a couple months so hopefully the WWE lets them have a good match.

I know the Usos are still new to the WWE scene, but with the way they have owned the Hart Dynasty on a few occasions I could see them taking the gold on Sunday.

These two teams are made up of wrestling legacies and the WWE has done a decent job of using their family ties in the storyline without making it seem like a pointless family vs family feud.

Rey Mysterio will be defending his World Title against Jack Swagger in what is sure to be a good match. Swagger has really improved since moving to the blue brand, and Rey is looking good in the ring these days as well.

Rey just won the title a month ago so I think he will retain against Swaggles, but Swagger could pull a fast one on everyone and walk away with the gold.

My hope is that Mysterio gets a longer reign than his first time around.

The WWE title will be up for grabs when John Cena battles Sheamus in yet another match. These two have replaced the feud left vacant by Randy Orton and John Cena. They have faced off in so many matches that it is kind of getting boring.

Sheamus is the current champion, and I see him retaining after some kind of interference from Nexus. I like Cena better when he is not the champion so here's hoping the human jar of mayonnaise wins the match.

In the Raw Money in the Bank match we will see Edge, Orton, Jericho, Bourne, Henry, Dibiase, Miz, and Morrison face off for a guaranteed World Title match.

Most of these men have been in a ladder or MITB match in the past so their is no clear favorite. Edge and Jericho have the most ladder match experience of any of the contenders so that may play into the results.

Edge has been involved in every MITB being used in some way or another so the WWE may want to keep that streak and have him win the match, however Evan Bourne has been pushed very well lately and could surprise some people by winning.

In my opinion the most deserving of the bunch is John Morrison. He was beating CM Punk on Smackdown while Punk was still World Champion.  Morrison has become very popular and is due for a World Title shot.

On the Smackdown side of things we will see Big Show, Rhodes, Christian, Hardy, Kofi Kane, Ziggler, and Mcintyre face off for the blue briefcase.

Christian and Hardy had great exchanges these past two weeks so my prediction is that one of them will walk out with the title shot in hand.

Christian has been overdue for a World Title for a long time, and Hardy is a person who many people want to see have at least one run with the World Title, so my prediction is that one of these two men will win.

I hope it's Hardy a little more than I hope it's Christian, but it's a close call.

So there you have it folks. Who do you think will walk out of MITB as the new number one contender?
