udson and the Atlanta Braves dominated the New York Mets Saturday afternoon, recording a 4-0 victory to take the first 2 games of this 3 game series.  The loss marked the first time this year the Mets have dropped 3 games in a row at home as well as back to back home series losses.  Hudson allowed 4 hits over 7 scoreless inning of work picking up his 9th win of the season in the process. For the 3rd straight start Mike Pelfrey (4 IP, 4 ER 12 H) failed to get out of the 5th inning, losing his 3rd game in a row as a result.   Manager Jerry Manuel commented on his starters ineffectiveness:

I think he is going to have to get back to pitching in.  I think once he gets back to establishing in, I think he’ll be fine. I think also he is probably at a little wall right now for him. I think this comes at a good time, the break comes at a good time for him. He’ll probably have close to 6 or 7 games off before his next start give him a chance to recuperate so I’ll think he’ll be fine.”

Mike Pelfrey bobbed and weaved his way out of trouble as the Braves left 9 runners on base (5 in scoring position) over the first 4 innings.  After escaping a bases loaded no out jam in the 4th, he worked his way into a predicament he was unable to escape in the top of the 5th inning.
