Paul The Octopus makes it 7-in-7 as Germany finish third in the 2010 FIFA World Cup after beating Uruguay 3-2 in a pulsating encounter.

Paul had predicted a German win in the playoff and he was right for the seventh time in row.

Previously, Paul had predicted all six matches in which Germany played accurately, including the Spain vs. Germany semi-final.

Germany took the lead in the 19th minute through Thomas Muller, but the match was soon in the balance as Edinson Cavani latched onto a Luis Suarez through pass.

Just after the break, Uruguay took the lead, thanks to the inspirational Diego Forlan, but it was short-lived as Marcel Jansen leveled soon after.

A 82nd minute header by Sami Khedira put Germany in the lead once again, and they hung on to it to claim the third spot.

Germany also finished third in the 2006 World Cup.
