MLB Daily Market Wrap up

Dan FabrizioJul 28, 2008

Moving Today's Market

The market has been moving throughout the day in the MLB gambling world. Some of the most lopsided games are the Yankees/Orioles, Tigers/Indians, and Red Sox/Angels games.

The Yankees are receiving over 80 percent of the 12,000-plus bets made. Mike Mussina (13-6, 3.26 ERA) will start for the Yankees and Orioles counter with Jeremy Guthrie (6-8, 3.58 ERA). Mussina is 10-7 with a 4.56 ERA against his former team.

The Tigers and Kenny Rogers (8-6, 4.48 ERA) are also receiving over 80 percent of the bets made as they face Paul Byrd (4-10, 5.28 ERA) and the Indians. Byrd snapped his six-start winless streak last Monday against the Angels. Rogers has pitched well as of late, as his ERA has gone from 6.66 on May 21 to 4.48.

The Red Sox have received over 75 percent of the 8,500-plus bets made against the team with the best record in baseball, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Diasuke Matsuzaka (11-1, 2.63 ERA) is trying to become the 11th pitcher with 12 wins this season. The Angels send Jered Weaver (8-8, 4.08 ERA) to the mound.

Weaver is still looking for his first career win against the Red Sox. He is 0-2 with a 5.46 ERA.

Also, Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt returns from the disabled list to face the Reds. This will be Oswalt's first start since July 11 when he sidelined with a left hip abductor strain. He returns to face a team he has dominated in his career. He is 19-1 with a 2.46 ERA.
