Which WWE Stars are Most Deserving of a World Championship Push

The Doctor Chris MuellerJul 8, 2010

Over the last year the WWE has made an effort to establish new stars and elevate new people to main event status. This move has made many wrestling fans happy, as the main event scene seemed filled with the same five guys for years.

Now we have guys like Sheamus and Jack Swagger leading the pack of newer stars to gold. Sheamus gained a lot of criticism at first, but has grown into one of WWE's top heels.

Right now the WWE has a plethora of talent just aching to be given that one push they need to become true superstars.

The following list are the guys I believe have what it takes to lead a brand and be a world champion.

Evan Bourne

I know plenty of people will say he is too young, or not over enough with the crowd, but I disagree. Evan is one of the few guys who can get an entire crowd to their feet simply by climbing to the top rope.

His finisher is a move that was deemed too dangerous to use in the WWE for a while, yet he pulls it off with ease. Evan has wrestled all over the world, and has the skill and experience needed to be a champion.

He may not have the best mic skills yet, but plenty of former champions sucked at talking as well.

I think Evan is not the next Rey Mysterio, he is on a whole new level. Some of the things I have seen him do in matches on YouTube are just incredible.

His most memorable moment for me personally was during a match where he had to sell a leg injury. He climbed up to the top rope with only one leg and then hit the SSP using only one foot to launch himself. That is pure skill.

MVP

Since bursting onto the Smackdown scene a couple years ago, MVP has gained tons of fans from all over the world. He has charisma to spare, good in-ring skills, and a great work ethic.

Montel may have been the cocky heel with a chip on his shoulder, but he has grown into a fan favorite. Being a former US and Tag Team champion, MVP once dominated Smackdown by beating the likes of Kane and Chris Benoit.

While he may not be the most technical wrestler, he makes up for it in sheer performance.

During his feud with Matt Hardy on Smackdown, many people cared more about their program than that of the World Champion at the time. These two put on great matches and MVP showed he has the IT factor.

Matt Hardy

I am a diehard Hardy mark so I cannot, in good conscience, leave him off this list. Matt has put his heart and soul into wrestling since he started his own promotion when he was just 15.

Matt is one of the most dedicated wrestlers when it comes to making his fans happy. He is constantly interacting with his legions of followers through online media, as well as putting out his own online TV series called The Hardy Show .

Matt Hardy may not be the most ripped, most technical or most experienced guy out there, but no one can deny that he has the drive and support from his fans to be a great World Champion.

If Matt were given a chance with a World Title I think WWE would be surprised at how well he would do.

Christian

Christian was one half of one of WWE's most successful and popular tag teams of all time with his kayfabe brother Edge. These two not only dominated the tag team scene for years, but they were innovative in matches with The Hardys and The Dudleys.

The reason why Christian is deserving of a World Title is because he is a solid, dependable, and above all, talented performer.

Christian left WWE for TNA when he felt he was being used poorly, and no one would blame seeing the storylines he was given.

In TNA, Christian was the big dog and hadthe NWA World Title twice. While this may not hold the prestige it once did, I still call him a former World Champion.

My hope is that Christian wins the MITB match for Smackdown and goes on to win the World Title.

The Miz

When Mike "The Miz" Mizanin started out in WWE he was the host of the Diva Search contest. This helped him to be more comfortable in front of live crowds.

When he first began wrestling, I couldn't stand him. For some reason he just seemed like he would be gone in six months.

Now, I have done a full 180 and become a Miz supporter. I have never seen the pure growth in a superstar like the way we have seen him grow over the past few years.

The Miz is by far one of WWE's best heels on the mic, and his in-ring ability has skyrocketed from mediocre to meteoric.

I predict that within three years we will see Miz with a World Title around his waist. I just wish the dirt sheet had lasted longer as it was one of the funnier things WWE has done in years.

John Morrison

The man once called Johnny Nitro has plenty of fans who would agree that he should be groomed for a major championship.

He has charisma, the right look, a great moveset, and the right work ethic to carry one of WWE's brands as its top face. Morrison also holds victories over many former World Champions including Rey Mysterio and CM Punk.

His time as a tag team wrestler saw him hold gold on many different occasions. With Joey Mercury and The Miz he had two of the more entertaining heel tag teams in recent years.

In a time when the little guy actually has a chance, John Morrison is a cut above the rest. His potential is limitless and I could see him winning the Raw MITB and cashing it in to become the champion he deserves to be.

So that's it folks. These are the guys I feel could lead us into the next 20 years of WWE.

Please let me know what you think and who you believe deserves to be given a World Title push.
