Ilya Kovalchuk Update

Todd CordellCorrespondent IJuly 6, 2010

It is believed that Ilya Kovalchuk's two options are the Devils and the KHL. When Devils Insider Tom Gulitti asked Devils GM Lou Lamoriello about his cap and if they were to sign Kovalchuk, Lamoriello replied, "Don't worry about my cap."

Ilya Kovalchuk's Russian agent also believes he will stay in the NHL, so all signs point toward Kovalchuk staying in New Jersey.

Kovalchuk's North American agent, Jay Grossman, said to expect a decision today.

Rumored contract: $60 million over 7 years
