Fernando Torres' agent, Jose Antonio Martin, has conceded that the striker could leave Liverpool for another club in the Premier League.

The hitman has been linked with a move away from Merseyside following the Reds' underwhelming season, which saw them miss out on securing Champions League football.

The departure of fellow Spaniard and boss Rafael Benitez only intensified speculation that the forward could seek a transfer, while new manager Roy Hodgson recently refused to guarantee that the fans' favourite would remain at the club next season.

"It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool," said Martin, according to The Daily Mail . "We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club."

Barcelona were believed to have had an eye cast on signing the Reds' prolific goalscorer, but the former Atletico Madrid forward's agent has rubbished speculation that his client could be headed to Camp Nou.

"It is ruled out," he said. "Barcelona have signed David Villa and now they want to invest the money they have in other players."
