Roy Hodgson Targets Murphy, Hangeland, G. Silva and Van Der Vaart for Liverpool

Roy Hodgson will be given a £15m budget when he finalizes his move to Liverpool. Hodgson will further boost his transfer budget by offloading stars Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun.

Barcelona are interested in Javier Mascherano and could make a bid in the region of £25m while Benayoun's £6m deal to Chelsea is all but done.

Hodgson has a drawn a wish list of four players that include Panathanikos's Gilberto Silva, out-of-favor Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, who is deemed surplus to requirements after the signing of Angel di Maria.

Former fans favorite Danny Murphy and Brede Hangeland are the other two targets.

Meanwhile Milan Jaovanovic has confirmed that he will be moving to Liverpool despite conflicting reports linking him to a move to Inter Milan after a good showing in the ongoing World Cup.

Jovanovic confirmed that he has signed a three-year deal with Liverpool.

"I am going to Liverpool, and I have signed there for three years," he said. "It is a real contract, not just a pre-agreement, and the departure of Benitez changes nothing. I have maintained contact with the Liverpool board throughout the summer, and everything is good. Everything is in order (for a work permit) because, over the past two years, I have played in 75 percent of the national side's games.

"I am already house-hunting in the Liverpool area. I will join up with the squad at their training camp in Switzerland in the middle of July, and I will make sure I go there in good shape. From Thursday, I will start my individual training programme, so I can prove to the manager straightaway that I am worth a place in the side."
