BIG TEN FOOTBALL: Michigan Wolverines 2008 Season Predictions

Kristofer GreenJul 26, 2008

Michigan has a lot of questions to answer this season.  Most of those questions are on the offensive side of the ball.  Defensively Michigan should be pretty good.  But will the defense be able to carry the load?

Here are my predictions for the Michigan Wolverines for the 2008 season.

8/30     UTAH

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: DEC 26 GameAbove Sports Bowl Central Michigan vs Northwestern
Northwestern v Penn State

RichRod starts his tenure at Michigan.  This will be a very good game and the Wolverines will do everything in their power not to lose it.  It just may come down to another last second field goal.

Prediction:  Win (24-21)

9/6       MIAMI (OHIO)

This could be a trap game... if the Red Hawks were a better team.

Prediction:  Win (35-10)

9/13     at NOTRE DAME

Jimmy Clausen will have to win this game for the Irish.  He won't.

Prediction:  Win (24-21)

9/27     WISCONSIN

Wisconsin's defense saves the day.

Prediction:  Loss (24-17)

10/04   ILLINOIS

Spread against Spread?  Sort of.

Prediction:  Loss (28-17)

10/11   TOLEDO

The Wolverines will end their 2 game losing streak.

Prediction:  Win (35-17)

10/18   at PENN STATE

Penn State ends it's losing streak against the Wolverines.

Prediction:  Loss (28-24)

10/25   MICHIGAN STATE

This rivalry game gets a little more heated.

Prediction:  Loss (24-20)

11/01   at PURDUE

Joe Tiller will pull out all the stops in his final game against the Big Blue.

Prediction:  Loss (28-27)

11/08   at MINNESOTA

The Golden Gophers can't handle a ticked off Michigan team.

Prediction:  Win (38-10)

11/15   NORTHWESTERN

The Wildcats get into a shoot out at the big house.

Prediction:  Win (38-28)

11/22   at OHIO STATE

The Buckeyes don't overlook this new look Michigan team.

Prediction:  Loss (28-20)

Final Record: 6-6.  The Wolverines struggle through the year and miss out on a bowl game for the first time in eons.  Lookout for this team next season as this will be a rare down year for the Big Blue.
