Will the Cleveland Browns Break the Trend and Break Into The Playoffs?

caleb dotsonJun 28, 2010

Call me crazy or just optimistic but this is how Cleveland will make the playoffs

With a much improved secondary and a upgraded linebacker corp the defense will start to really put some work in.

For example look what happened last year when Rob Ryan was able to use man coverage against the Steelers. It was like a Big Ben beat down and I think most Browns fans would agree it was the best Thursday night of the year.

Offensively the Browns helped the trenches out through the draft and free agency.

Also trading away quarterbacks and signing Jake Delhomme who is looking to prove the NFL and the Carolina Panthers wrong this be a comeback story to make an NFL top 10 showing.

The addition of Ben Watson, Montario Hardesty, and the receivers coming into their second year—this offense will be potent with a heavy dose of run.

Of course never forget Josh Cribbs, the Wildcat, and special teams extraordinaire.

Week 1 Tampa Bay - Cleveland wins handly 24-7 heavy on the run and the wildcat Tampa never stood a chance. Also Mangini and Ryans defense coming into second year dominates the young QB Freeman and two rookie receivers.

Week 2 Kansas City - Cleveland wins again 28-14 Josh Cribbs puts two touchdowns on the board himself and the Browns run over the Chiefs just like last year.

Week 3 Baltimore - Ravens win this one grounding Cleveland a little but still a good game as the Ravens win 17-10. A couple mistake's by the defense and a struggle to get the run game going fires this team up goin into week 4.

Week 4 Cincinnati - Here is the first upset as Cleveland gets to the QB left and right and wins 21-17.  Teams continue to under estimate these Browns. Carson Palmer over throws receivers all day like he's throwing to Avatars.

Week 5 Atlanta - The Falcons even attack and steady defense is too much for Cleveland this week and the Browns lose 28-21. But the receivers are making strides and look to start to push as weeks continue.

Week 6 Pittsburgh - The Browns win!!!  Who cares what the score is we'll say 100-0.

Week 7 New Orleans - Saints are still the champs and don't stumble in Cleveland. As they win with ease 31-14. But at least Cleveland has a middle of the season bye week to get healthy and retune some idea's.

Week 8 Bye week.

Week 9 New England - Browns win a close game. And the Pats start to look old and Brady still doesn't have a new deal in place. Browns 27-Pats 24.

Week 10 NY Jets - Mangini and Ryan pull out all the stops and upset the Jets in week 10 and Mangini secures another year in Cleveland. Browns 14-Jets-10.

Week 11 Jacksonville - Rehashing last years wounds Cleveland runs the ball with a real passion and win again. Browns 24 Jags 10

Week 12 Carolina - As bad as Delhomme wants to win this is when he falters and Cleveland loses but what doesn't kill them makes them stronger. Panthers-21 Browns-13

Week 13 Miami - The Browns have another bad week and the wildcat and Brandon Marshall beat up on Cleveland. Holmgren gives the guys a speach during practice that week and the turn around begins. Miami 28 Browns 17

Week 14 Buffalo - Easy win here Bills are bad.  Browns put up best win of the year 31-7 no contest.

Week 15 Cincinnati - Bengals get there revenge and pull a win out against the instate rival.  Too much offense for the Browns to contain this week. Bengals 21 Browns 17

Week 16 Baltimore - Ravens go down and hard as the Browns run game can't be stopped by the old ravens defense. Browns 24-Ravens 14

Week 17 Pittsburgh - Browns win 100-0.

Cleveland finishes 10-6 and makes the playoffs. If you don't like these predictions your probably not a Browns fan and should go ahead and prep yourself for a beat down from the new Cleveland Browns.
