Message to IWC: Mixing the Old With the New Is a Good Thing
I'm back, and somewhat annoyed. Not that anyone noticed I was even gone.
Why am I annoyed? Because ever since I've stopped writing on Bleacher Report, I've been reading article after article, and comment after comment, talking about the "old age home" and "WWE's nobodies" taking over TNA.
Now, I agree on some things, such as too much Hogan, RVD's title run starting a bit too quickly, not wanting to see another Sting vs. Jarrett match (or even segment) without stabbing myself in the eye, because you can only take so much of Sting kicking the shit out of one of the most uncharismatic wrestlers in TNA.
But the "oldies running TNA" comments have to stop.
I hear complaints about The Band, which I agree with, but they are potentially gone, seeing as how we haven't seen Pac, and Hall has been released.
Then we have Angle haters. Seriously?! What bad can that man bring? He can do nothing but make TNA wrestlers look good and/or show us who isn't good enough for the top.
Next up is Flair. His promos seem to grow better and better every week. The thing that bugs me is everyone saying he's too old to wrestle in TNA.
This may be true, but I can guarantee if the man was still in WWE no one would even mention the fact that he's a billion years old and still wrestling. They'd probably be praising him.
That brings up my next point. Does anyone really complain or notice the old has-beens in WWE? With the exception of some writers, it seems as if no one cares about the old guys in the PG world. Just saying, some are being a tad biased.
Finally, the most recent complaint being Abyss' "they", most likely being the ECW crew. Maybe if you haven't realized, the ECW crew are showing up uninvited at random matches, as if they are scouting TNA wrestlers such as Ink Inc. and Abyss into joining their crew.
Possibly Samoa Joe? I mean, the man came back as his former bad ass self for a reason I'd assume. Kidnapped by ECW crew? We complain about how TNA doesn't use some of their wrestlers, yet Dr. Stevie and Raven show up and everyone begins to complain.
For all we know, when the ECW crew and TNA wrestlers (such as Abyss and whoever else may be joining) finally enter the ring together, who's to say our very own young TNA talent won't be the ones to carry the matches?
Dreamer and Co. might not be the greatest of wrestlers (well, they definitely aren't), but with the extreme stipulation most likely being the main point of all of their matches, then why do we need to worry about their actual wrestling? We don't, or at least hopefully we don't.
I understand the gripe about too many WWE guys in TNA, but eventually they will all retire and at that point, there won't be anyone to give these TNA guys the rub. And I agree some should not be there, but the fact that these silly comments about old guys running the show is ridiculous. TNA is slowly but surely trying to make things better and more interesting for us.
I'm not a mark, they do do stupid things I can admit, but before we criticize (WWE or TNA) we should give some things a chance
...Unless we know it'll be shit beforehand, of course.
Comment, because I know there is going to be some disagreement.
