The only four guys on my Yahoo Fantasy Golf team this weekend did alright, as once again, I gained ground on the final Yahoo expert ahead of me this season.
I am now in the 86th percentile with Goosen grabbing me 20 points, and Micheel 18, along with 10 for Ryan Moore and Bo Van Pelt with eight.
My season total is 3643 points, in the position of 20,595. Matt Romig of Yahoo Golf has 3701 points and in the position of 14,824.
The other three experts on Yahoo are behind us by a bit, and I don't anticipate anyone catching us, as I seem to have learned something last season.
It's funny how Tiger Woods, of all people have not been much of a help when used in fantasy golf this season.
Ben Crane has scored well for me, as well as Dustin Johnson, and Shaun Micheel the last few weeks too. I have stuck to my plan of mostly using Fed-Ex Cup point leaders on my teams.
Repeat tournament winners do not happen very often, so leave them off your teams. Play the high percentage players with few missed cuts, and top three finishes and you will score in fantasy golf.
Furyk and Ogilvie have also been very good earlier in the season for fantasy golf points.
Both of these players who were hot on Saturday, now have a chance to win The Travelers Championship at TPC, River Highlands, Cromwell Ct in 2010.
Goosen and Micheel have the game to go very low, so Justin Rose still needs to fire around 67 to wrap this thing up.
If he only shoots minus two as yesterday, he may be challenged by a number of players.
Ben Curtis looked very good yesterday posting a 65, which may be the number that wins this tournament on Sunday.
I will cover the final round live shot by shot, as it happens. Look for the final results and mention of the great shots this tournaments' final nine holes will bring this Sunday evening, June 27th 2010, on Bleacherreport.com
Enjoy the afternoon.
