WWE Money In The Bank: Who Will Be The Sweet 16 *UPDATE* CM PUNK INJURED
Money in the Bank.
With 16 men taking up two matches at the upcoming pay-per-view, WWE must put the right people in those matches while still keeping some good wrestlers for the undercard matches, otherwise we just have another show that no ones going to buy.
With the new rule being that the winner of the Smackdown MITB can only challenge for the World Title and the winner of the Raw MITB can only challenge for the WWE Title, we won't have anyone switching brands. So for anyone hoping to see Evan Bourne win the Raw match and challenge Mysterio at Summerslam, sorry, but it's not happening.
Now let's start with my predictions,
RAW
Obviously, Edge and Randy Orton will be in this match to give it necessary star power. Chris Jericho will make his first appearance in a every man for himself ladder match since his match with Shawn Michaels at No Mercy 2008. Evan Bourne has been given a big push, so I'd expect to see him in the match as well. Those are the obvious ones.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ted Dibiase Jr., the Miz, R-Truth, and John Morrison as in the match as well.
The one thing I'm not sure is if they'll put any of the NXT season 1 guys in the match.
RAW MITB MATCH:
Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Evan Bourne vs. Ted Dibiase Jr. vs. The Miz vs. R-Truth vs. John Morrison
SMACKDOWN
This one could be good if they put the right people in the match.
Christian, Matt Hardy, and CM Punk, the ladder match veterans on SD, should qualify automatically. Kofi Kingston isn't exactly a ladder match veteran, but he'll be put in. WWE seems to like big men in their MITB matches so Big Show and Kane will also most like be added.
If WWE plans on doing anything with the new "Dashing" Cody Rhodes, he should be in this match. That leaves one spot and two people who I could see taking it: MVP and Dolph Ziggler. Since Mr. Ziggles is still somewhat feuding with Christian, I see him taking the final spot by a hair.
SMACKDOWN MITB MATCH:
Christian vs. Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show vs. Kane vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Dolph Ziggler
As for the other matches, Rey Mysterio defending his newly won world championship against Jack Swagger has already been announced, and I'm guessing Sheamus will be defending against John Cena and possibly Wade Barrett.
The Hart Dynasty will finally defend their belts against the Uso's. Drew McIntyre could find his way into the ladder match, but I think it's time for him to start a new feud and have a match in the undercard. You have to know that the NXT guys will show up in some shape or form, whether it's in a match remains to be seen.
One last thing, I think Undertaker will return in the ladder match, costing Kane the win.
**UPDATE** CM Punk had surgery on his arm last week and he will be out of action for one to two months, keeping him off the pay-per-view. Drew McIntyre was also said to be in the MITB match, but with his work visa expiring, it is not known when he will be back. So here's my updated Smackdown MITB match with the six that have already been announced with my two predictions:
SMACKDOWN MITB MATCH:
Christian vs. Matt Hardy vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show vs. Kane vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. MVP
