William Wesley (aka "World Wide Wes") is one of the most mysterious, yet influential and connected men in the NBA.
For him to be associated with the most prominent players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James, WWW chooses his words very carefully, very discreetly.
So for him to talk about James' free agency, he sure will make a big splash in the NBA news.
I'm not sure who "we're" implies, but read the link and you can decide for yourself how you want to take Mr. Wesley's quote.
This comes a couple of days after ESPN analysts and former-NBA player Jalen Rose tweeted on June 23:
"#NBA BREAKING NEWS (research/sources say) It is almost CERTAIN that LEBRON JAMES WILL NOT be returning to the CAVS! (Bulls/Heat/Clips)."
Then later, Rose tweeted again:
"NBA as of 2day the Bulls have the best chance of landing LBJ...Miami would need to make more roster moves...Clips have a punchers chance!"
Rose, anyway, is the guy who coined the nickname "World Wide Wes."
What made Rose so confident that he can tweet such things?
After the NBA draft, things seem to have been falling according to his predictions.
The Bulls greatly increased their chances of landing James by trading Krik Hinrich and his $9 million contract to the Washington Wizards, along with the 17th pick (Kevin Seraphin). This move widens the cap space for the Bulls to land two max contract players, notably James and Bosh.
So, did Rose have the inside that the Bulls were going to ship Captain Kirk before the GM Gar Forman announced it?
What's more, Rose's tweet said, "...Miami would need to make more roster moves..."
Behold, the Heat did on draft night too. They traded Daequan Cook and their 18th overall pick (Eric Bledsoe) to Oklahoma City. Thus, Miami can have enough to resign Dwyane Wade and add two more top free agents like Bosh and Joe Johnson, or just James.
The clock is still ticking: Five more days.
