I got up bright and early for this one, here are the latest rumors going around the
NHL heading into tonight's draft.
I was expecting top goalie prospect Jack Campbell to go a bit high at sixth overall to the
Lightning however, rumor has it that the
Dallas Stars (11th pick) and
Phoenix Coyotes (13th pick) are very interested in his services.
Three big names on the
Panthers could be moved today, watch out for Stephen Weiss, Keith Ballard and Thomas Vokoun.
Contract talks with Ian White and the
Flames are not going so well right now, his rights may be dealt today or tomorrow.
The
Flyers might re-sign Leighton, but not as the starting goalie. The Flyers may find their goalie tonight at the draft via trade.
Despite the big contract Tim Thomas has, he is generating some interest, he may be moved tonight.
The LA
Kings keep saying they will keep both goalies in Quick and Bernier, personally I think the offers will be so good that they will have to give one up.
The
Maple Leafs have received six offers for Tomas Kaberle and the amount of teams interested is in double digets. I expect he will be moved tonight.
The Florida Panthers are shopping the 15th overall pick. The Maple Leafs,
Oilers and
Islanders are among the teams interested.
Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg is still very much available but the Blackhawks appear to be asking a first round pick. Teams right now are deciding if he is worth it.
According to Darren Dreger of TSN the
Bruins are not pushing Marc Savard out the door however, he is being shopped and he is generating some interest from around the league.
I expect the Stars to deal Mike Ribeiro tonight or tomorrow, watch out for that.
