What's WWE Doing With Jack Swagger?

First of all, great to be back on the BR forums. I know it's been a while, but I have just graduated and I plan on writing more. Now on to my business.

I was pretty happy to see Jack Swagger claim the Money in the Bank at Wrestlemania XXVI, and I think I was one of a few that thought he could.

What I loved even more was watching Swagger try to do what all but one winner has done in the past: cash it in on an unsuspecting champion.

Since I first saw "The All-American American" on ECW, I knew he would one day make it to the top.

He reminded me a lot of Kurt Angle in his WWE days: cocky, patriotic, showing off his past accomplishments, and an extensive knowledge of freestyle wrestling.

He then began an undefeated streak of sorts, beating guys like Matt Hardy, Tommy Dreamer, and well, everyone in the land of extreme.

As I sat there watching Monday Night RAW, I couldn't help but think, this is where Swagger needs to be. He was obviously really big on ECW, so why couldn't he make a good A-show superstar?

And what does WWE do? They match him up with The Miz and Kofi Kingston, two guys who really weren't getting too much of a push at the time, over the United States Title, and the closest Jack can get is stealing the belt.

So what does management do next? Make him job to Santino Marella, the man who seems to be the ultimate jobber nowadays.

And after all of this, they give him the prestigious honor of joining CM Punk, Edge, RVD, and Mr. Kennedy as MITB winners.

Once Swagger became a champion, the pattern continued. He would constantly lose week after week on Smackdown, whether clean or by DQ.

But when it comes time to main event a pay-per-view, he somehow defeats Randy Orton. The following SD, he begins another losing streak.

I have to ask you, WWE: Why are you doing this with Jack Swagger? Some say that the point behind him losing the title was because he didn't go over well with the fans after beating Jericho.

But what can you expect? Once Swagger was champ, he basically became Chris Jericho. He turned from the chest-beating, smiling, lisping clown into a serious, cheat-to-win, sullen-faced drone who did nothing but talk about what he did years ago (beating Rock and Stone Cold is to Y2J as NCAA Championships and records are to Swagger).

WWE, Swagger wasn't as popular with the fans because you tried to make him into something you already had!

Mr. McMahon, open your eyes! Make Swagger a champion again, and try to make him look like a man that can hold that belt and get any kind of audience reaction other than crickets chirping.
