Why Is Bret Hart Gone From The WWE This Time?

Reports have surfaced that Bret Hart is indeed done with WWE for the time being. The two parted ways a couple weeks ago, with some saying it was because Bret was getting married again.

That explains the time off, but it does not explain why he is gone.

The main reason being floated around is that Bret's insurance provider is upset with the amount of physical interaction while being a part of WWE in recent months.

This makes sense because Bret's condition would definitely make insurance providers uneasy when he fights in the ring.

There is another possible reason that doesn't seem to be making headlines. Could Bret's departure have anything to do with the lawsuit filed against WWE by Owen Hart's widow?

Martha Hart is suing WWE over use of Owen's image. Apparently there was an agreement made between WWE and Martha Hart in 2000, but she is claiming that WWE has violated that agreement.

WWE responded by saying they have the right to use their own copywritten material, and that this is the first time they have heard from Martha Hart since their 2000 agreement.

Bret may have been caught in the crossfire on this one since he himself sells shirts depicting Owen and Bret on his website. Bret has also worn the shirts on multiple TV tapings, and even some superstars have been seen on TV wearing them.

Bret had been happy with WWE since coming back and even stayed longer than the original plans had called for. His younger family members are Unified Tag champs as well.

Bret's exit from WWE came very suddenly and it seemed like the WWE was keeping something from us. Bret made a good GM and his angle with the NXT guys would have been great.

Some people are saying he could return later in the summer, but we will have to wait and see.

I hope Bret comes back soon as he was a welcome addition to the WWE shows and usually provided great entertainment.
