TNA Delivers Knockout Blow To Fans By Releasing Roxxi
Sorry about the pun in the headline, I couldn't help myself. Anyways, onto the important matter.
TNA has released Roxxi after she lost a career vs title match against Madison Rayne. This is one of the more upsetting moves to me by TNA since the redirection of the company.
Roxxi is by far the most talented knockout in TNA, or should I saw "was" the most talented. She was willing to do things some of the male performers don't even want to do.
She was hardcore and had a very aggressive style.
This is the problem I have with womens wrestling today. The focus is on looks more than talent, and while I understand that a covergirl model could bring in viewers, what keeps them there is great action.
Roxxi was the prime example of what all female wrestlers should aspire to be. Over the last year or so she has made sporadic appearances with TNA, and each time her fan reaction is huge.
She has an amazing report with the fans in the iMPACT Zone, and she has the skills to back up every word she says.
The last time she made a surprise appearance in TNA I actually cheered out loud, and I was at home with my family. So it was kind of embarrassing, or at least it would have been had it not been Roxxi.
I'll accept that she may not fit the mold of the supermodel wrestler like Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Suck, but what I cannot accept is how TNA can pay Christie Hemme more to be a backstage interviewer than any other knockout who wrestles, and yet an amazing talent like Roxxi gets thrown to the wayside.
I'm sure she will have no trouble getting work on the indy scene. She is well known with wrestling fans and she is willing to go the limit to entertain us.
I hope WWE realizes the mistake TNA made and tries to sign her. I know I'm like a fat kid at a malt shop, grabbing at straws, thinking WWE would sign her, but one can hope.
This is more of a rant than an article so I apologize to anyone who read thinking they would find out any new news on the situation.
I have to give credit to Roxxi being a true pro during all this. She posted a blog recently that had nothing but great things to say about TNA and her time with the company.
I hope Hogan and Dixie see what a crapshute the knockout division is without Tara and Roxxi. Maybe she will be resigned someday, who knows.
All I know is that this is another great example of how someone with all the talent in the world can be pushed aside simply because someone else has the right look.
