A Possible Draft Day Deal With The Bruins
Coming up to the draft, there will be continued speculation as to what the Panthers need.
The 2010 draft reminds of 2004, where there were too great offensive prospects in Ovechkin and Malkin. Our new GM Dale Tallon, was left 'holding the baby' and at No3 selecting Cam Barker, who has yet to play to his lofty draft status.
Trading our No3 pick to the Bruins for their No15, either David Krejci or Joe Colborne and their No45 pick would be a very attractive trade.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
The Bruins are loaded at Center and if they draft as its suspected Tyler Seguin, they be even deeper. They also don't have a lot of cap space and David Krejci (6ft, 177lbs) with a salary hit of $3.75m, might be someone they'd look to move. Considering he was slowed by injury his totals aren't too bad, and he was very good in 2008-09. Whilst not the most athletic he plays with great vision and could unlock the potential of some of our guys especially Olesz and Frolik. Alternatively, Joe Colborne (6ft5, 206lbs) would be a nice pick up who has shown the ability to score and brings the size that Tallon desires. Add the No45 pick in a deep draft and it would certainly be enticing.
At No15, Dale could look at either forward or defenseman, and there would be a chance that the likes of Etem Emerson, Nick Bjugstad or Austin Watson at forward or Dylan McIlrath, Derek Forbort or Mark Pysyk on defense will be available there.
Looking at the roster, we have a good group of Top 4 defensemen in Bryan McCabe, Keith Ballard, Bryan Allen, and Dmitri Kulikov. We've got a couple of defensemen who could take the 5th and 6th spots in Garrison and Clay Wilson plus prospects like Ellerby and Robak. However with McCabe in his final year, drafting a thumper on defense could be of interest.
Alternatively we have a pretty decent 1st line in Booth, Weiss and Horton and if we picked up Krejci a decent second line in Olesz (if he steps up) or Matthias and Frolik. We have some decent prospects in Dadonov and Repik, Jenks and Garrett Wilson, but a top prospect in the middle like Colborne could help. However with picks at No33, No36 and No50 already we might find that prospect in the draft.
Trading the No3 to the Bruins for No15, David Krejci and No45, makes a lot of sense
