Five Things TNA Should Change to Improve Their Product
Many wrestling fans, including myself have been hoping that TNA could catch on and produce another war between two wrestling companies.
TNA believes they can compete with the WWE and I think competition would be great for the business, with that being said there are a few things I think they should change, or should have done differently in TNA to help make them better.
1. Keep Flair and Hogan outside the ring
Believe me I love Hogan and more importantly Ric Flair, but seeing Ric Flair still wrestling in TNA needs to stop. Flair is such an important asset as a manager/mentor for AJ Styles and for whoever they want to pair him with. Thankfully we have not seen Hogan in the ring since the tag match of Flair and Styles against Hogan and Abyss.
2. Let Abyss go back to his roots
Abyss needs to go back to being that "monster" that TNA fans loved to watch. Ever since he started the whole gimmick with Mick Foley he has gone downhill. I understand the whole he acts nice and whatnot but in the ring he is an animal. The best thing for Abyss would be for James Mitchell to return as his manager and be that "monster" that he used to be.
3. RVD should not of gotten the World Title so quickly
I love RVD as much as the next guy, but how could him winning the title after being with the company for such a short time go over well in the locker room? We all know he is buddy buddy with Hogan but that shouldn't carry over to your product, and the fact RVD got the title so fast suggests that is was Hogans decision. Now RVD has been great but I feel he should of worked his way up a little more to make it more believable.
4. Bring in more managers
The art of the manager is essentially a dead breed, we never see managers anymore and I'm not sure why. There have been so many great ones in the past, and they serve a great purpose for wrestlers who don't have the best mic skills and make "monster" characters even more believable when their manager talks for him and the monster never talks just destroys people.
5. Cut down the roster / Stop bringing in washed up acts
TNA is much better wrestling than WWE, but they have so many wrestlers on their roster, especially in the X division. Every PPV we see another rushed together feud with a new guy usually winning the belt. Albeit Doug Williams has had a decent run at champ but every PPV hes against someone new that they have built up for about a week.
We know Hogan brought in some of his buddies when he first arrived to TNA i.e Bubba the Love Sponge, The Nasty Boys and such. But this really needs to stop, trying to recycle wrestlers who have already had their time while younger talented guys are buried on the roster.
Hope everyone enjoyed this article and leave feedback with your own opinions on how TNA can better itself and compete with the WWE
