Georges St-Pierre's Coach: GSP Just Says No To Drugs
While UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre is too busy serving as coach on the 12th season of โThe Ultimate Fighterโ to fire back at the recent barrage of steroid accusations thrown his way, longtime trainer Firas Zahabi had no problem taking the mic in his friendโs defense.
โNobody knows Georges or spends more time with him than I do and I can tell you that he absolutely does not use any performance enhancing drugs,โ Zahabi toldย CagePotato.com over the UFC 115 weekend. "He works harder than everyone in the gym and constantly pushes his body to the limit. To push past plateaus."
Furthermore, Zahabi points to the fact GSPโs body hasnโt changed muchโif at allโsince becoming a professional mixed martial artist back in January of 2002.ย The championโs right-hand man believes you can credit Mr. and Mrs. St-Pierre for the chiseled foundation he was able to build from.
โHe also has very good genetics. If you look at pictures of him when he was younger, he was always very lean,โ Zahabi said. โIโm sure we all know guys who can eat like pigs and donโt put on any weight. Thatโs Georges. Look up โectomorphโ on the Internet. I actually recently wrote an article on this body type.โ
Last week, welterweight top contender and rival TUF 12 coach Josh Koscheck told the media that Team BJ Penn informed him St-Pierre was juicing and possibly on HGH. Penn later denied telling Kos anything , however, the former lightweight champ professed Koscheckย was reading his mind.
โI guess claims like this just speak to the hard work and results of Georges, [strength and conditioning coach] Jonathan Chaimberg and myself,โ Zahabi said in closing. โGeorges doesnโt let things like this bother him โฆ because there have been people saying bad things about him since he started fighting, no matter how many amazing things heโs done.
โHe knows to not take it to heart.โ
