Why Your Team Won't Win the Super Bowl: Buffalo Bills Edition
June 15, 2010
No, I am not picking on just the Buffalo Bills! This is a series that I am doing for all 32 of the NFL teams, Why Your Team Won't Win The Super Bowl . (click the link to see the other teams.)
I can honestly say that this is one of the few of these that I really didn't want to have to write.
The Buffalo Bills are honestly just not a good team at this point, and have not been in a while.
They used their first round pick on Clemson RB CJ Spiller, which would have been a good pick, had they needed a running back. If they were going to draft Spiller, then they should have traded Marshawn Lynch by now.
I know Bills fans are going to say they are trying to right now, but honestly, they need a true quality player in exchange for him. They are reportedly talking with the Seattle Seahawks, but who is Seattle going to trade for him?
Buffalo also has some serious issues under center, the Bills don't have a true QB. They have not done anything to improve the position, which is possibly the weakest depth in all of the NFL.
The Bills offensive line, which started a total of three rookies last season, is a year older. They fired their offensive line coach, and it is looking like they are not getting any better.
As for the defense, unlike most of the rest of the AFC East, the secondary could be their only bright spot on this team. The only problem is, if the Bills are losing, teams are going to be running the ball. And the Bills' secondary will become obsolete.
My prediction: Sorry, Bills fans. I believe that the Bills are going to be one of the worst teams, if not THE worst team in the NFL in 2010. I am picking the Bills to finish the season 3-13, in last place in the AFC East, and possibly the holder of the first pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
