WWE Raw's Match Of the Night: Miz Takes US Title In Fatal 4-Way

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 15, 2010

WWE Raw had a fatal 4-way match for the United States Championship last night.

R-Truth was the champion going into the match, but the man he took the title from was also competing.

The night saw John Morrison, Zack Ryder, The Miz, and R-Truth face off over the gold. The match started in typical fatal 4-way fashion, with two teams of two men fighting each other.

Once Morrison and Truth cleared the ring, they locked up. These two men were once Tag Team partners, but are now opponents in the quest for championship gold.

Many moments throughout the match highlighted these great competitors, but two moments in particular made this match exciting.

The first came when Miz perched on the apron. John Morrison somersaulted over Miz to the outside and delivered a powerbomb to Miz from the apron to the floor. But on the way down, Miz knocked into Ryder, effectively subduing the king of woo woo woo.

Later in the match, Morrison tried to superplex Ryder. But Ryder held on.

Truth snuck into position underneath the two and delivered a powerbomb to Morrison while Morrison superplexed Ryder. And on the way down, all three men hit Miz.

Miz flailed around the ring afterwards, to the point that one may think he was actually a little hurt during that spot.

As the match wound down, it came down to Morrison and Truth. Truth was grounded and Morrison had a chance to hit Starship Pain.

Morrison hesitated while looking down at his prone friend.

He decided to go for it, and hit the corkscrew split legged moonsault on the downed champion. But before he could make the cover, The Miz came out of nowhere and threw Morrison to the outside.

Miz got the victory and regained his US Title.

Miz celebrated afterwards, showing his newly won gold to his downed opponent.

This was easily the match of the night, and I dare say may be better than the upcoming fatal 4-way matches we will see on Sunday.

All four men showed they have what it takes to be WWE's next class of main eventers last night.

What did you guys think of the match?
