Will Dana White Help the Iceman Dance Away From Tito Ortiz?

Dorothy WillisJun 14, 2010

Grandma Dee has been so spent and confused recently that writing has not been an option. However, as usual, there is something that just has to be said.

After all the hoopla about that "rotten scoundrel" Tito Ortiz ruining the TUF show and "finding another way to duck a fight with fearsome legend" Chuck Liddell, (due to needing surgery on his neck, which he filmed to prove that it was necessary and did indeed take place), why is Dana "retiring" the Iceman now?

To me it defies imagination for Dana and Chuck to put up such a huge ruckus, only to now put Chuck forever out of Tito's reach, which is most probably shorter than Chuck's, if I recall.

Tito has been tarred and feathered before the entire UFC audience on both the TUF series and in public, including many websites that reported how Rich Franklin "had" to replace Tito to save the show and face Chuck in the cage for UFC 115.

Tito has been dubbed as being a whiner and a coward who used a questionable (in Dana's mind) medical problem, to avoid confronting his arch enemy. Now, after being once again knocked senseless in a huge fight in his quest to "regain a chance at the 205 division belt," Chuck will be retired at Dana's insistence and "for his health."

Wait just a darn minute MMA fans!

Isn't this just a tiny bit hypocritical in light of what Dana has said about Tito's well being?

Doesn't this smack of favoritism and a double standard?

Maybe the same confusion which has taken away my ability to write has taken away my powers of observation, yet it does seem to me that Tito is owed a fight with Chuck and/or a gigantic and very public apology from both Chuck and Dana White.

Readers, weigh in, is Grandma wrong on this one, or are we all owed another fight?
