NHRA Lucas Oil Deep Clean Nationals Qualifying Results Saturday

Dustin H.Jun 13, 2010

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series is in Englishtown, New Jersey for the 41st Annual Lucas Oil Deep Clean NHRA Nationals from Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Cory McClenathan is looking to back up his time from Friday night to set the National Record but all times remained the same on Saturday as they carry over from the Friday session. Hot, muggy summer heat on Saturday made it very tough to get down the racetrack and set a good time.

Cory McClenathan ran a 3.752 at 324.75 mph the fastest 1,000 ft time ever and looks to back that up in the early rounds of eliminations on Sunday from Englishtown. The Fram Dragster has the #1 qualifying spot ahead of Brandon Bernstein in the Copart Dragster, Brandon ran a 3.807 at 313.73 mph and you can see that Cory Mac's time is in another zip code.

Robert Hight was denied victory last week going for four wins in a row by Matt Hagan in the Diehard car, Hagan is slotted in sixth in qualifying from Englishtown.

Mike Edwards no surprise is #1 qualifer again in Pro Stock in his Penhall/Interstate Batteries/K&N Filters Pontiac GXP atop the qualifying line with another #1 qualifer. Edwards ran a 6.513 at 211.49 mph. Vinnie Deceglie and Bob Yonke round out the top 3 spots from Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
