TNA: Speculation on Dixie Carter's Big Surprise

The Doctor Chris MuellerJun 12, 2010

Rumors have been all over the IWC of what Dixie Carter is talking about when she refers to her "Big Surprises."

Dixie has been letting very few details come out as to what the surprises are.  Some have their theories, while others are just waiting in the wings to see what happens.

The biggest rumor right now is that Paul Heyman, the outspoken man behind the cult promotion ECW, is getting on board.

Reports have been circulating for months that TNA is interested in bringing Heyman in to round out the creative team.  Heyman is a likely choice to take over if Vince Russo were to leave TNA.

Heyman is known for being controversial and loud about his opinions when it comes to the world of wrestling.  He left WWE shortly after the rebirth of ECW, and has since been blogging and talking about wrestling all over the place.

Another idea that has been thrown around is turning the Global Championship into a TNA Hardcore Championship.  Rob Terry currently holds the Global Title, but with TNA never defining the championship, it makes sense to change it.

Having a hardcore title would help TNA differentiate themselves from WWE since the Connecticut-based promotion no longer allows blood or extreme violence on its programming anymore.

There are a few names of wrestlers who could be making their way to TNA as well.  Guys like Gregory "Shane" Helms, Shelton Benjamin, Bryan Danielson, and others who have been released by WWE have been sought out by TNA.

Some of the names mentioned still have their 90-day no compete clauses in effect, but some don't and TNA loves their surprise debuts.

Most of the names mentioned would not qualify as the major surprise Dixie has been referring to, but then again she made a bigger deal out of Mr. Anderson than expected.

Another possibility for the big surprise Ms. Carter has been talking about could be TNA taking the show on the road permanently.

One thing that most fans don't like about TNA is the fact that they film on a sound stage at Universal Studios and only have house shows here and there.

Taking TNA out of the Impact! Zone and having shows all around the country would increase exposure, interest, and their fanbase significantly.

So those are my thoughts, what are yours?
