Charley Hoffman was like a Boy Scout after a good day of nice deeds. In the clubhouse at minus eight, Hoffman is the 36 hole leader at the St. Jude Classic.

The San Diego native has struggled on the weekends, and I suggest a nice, neat haircut will change his attitude. His game will become crisper and cleaner, much like the hair.

Trust me.

The Yahoo Fantasy Golf team of Zach Johnson, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, and Ben Crane is doing swimmingly this week. Johnson sits in 15th place at minus four through thirteen holes while McIlroy, in at minus five, sits in 10th.

Lee Westwood can tie for the lead with a birdie, and could even be alone atop the leaderboard with two well placed shots, before the round ends on Friday.

Mr. Westwood will likely be in first or second place heading into Saturday.

Ben Crane has been a rock as a C fantasy player. But he's had a letdown on Friday, carding a plus four so far this afternoon. He has five holes to get right. Crane is at a plus one for the tournament.

Lee Janzen, who's at minus five, looks solid and has the game to win this weekend with a diluted field.

Lee Westwood is the other big name player with the tools to get it done in Memphis this weekend.

Robert Karlson, who last won a couple years ago in Harbortown, is also minus seven. He'll be another good name to watch on Saturday and Sunday.

Tim Petrovic has been hot lately and will bear watching, along with D.J. Trahan. Both players sit at minus six.

In the second week of league bowling after five years absence, 190, 189, 212.

Cool beans.
