7 Years Bad Luck. Reminiscing The Years You Wont Miss!

        As the 2010 season gets underway 49er fans find themselves back in familiar territory, that over the better part of the decades become rather unfamiliar! Success isnt hoped upon it is downright expected, and what truely excites 49er fans is this team has no reason not to exceed expectations         The 49ers led by Coach Singletary who's motivtional pep talks could have Gen. Patton green with envy has yielded positive results, while meshing a team into just that, a team. It seems te old standard may be back in Sanfrancisco. A new era, new philosophies, and possibly a new stadium, i wonder now that things have come full circle what  one take of the last several years of dismal play. How will it be remembered. I know the years Walsh started. The team making the playoffs 16, of 17 years swhile racking up the most Lambardi trophie's in the league at the time is looked upon with reverance, as one of the truely great teams in any sport.

        One thing that often pops to mind when remembring the Niners fall from grace is salary cap hell they buried themselves under the weight of their glory days. I recall watching one year the before it hit the fan. The 49er's, were playing Denver. During a slow point in the game the network showed how the Niner's only could use one half of the salary cap, and Mooch actually salvaged some of those years. Delaying the inevitable. When Erickson took over earlier in his first year while playing Atlanta, a corner was injured in tefirst quarter, leaving only three on the depth chart. The effects of this went on until the end of the Nolan years, Patrick Estes starting at tackle. So many ufa's playing keyroles. It was fun to see so many kids get to live out thier dream of make the NFL, but hopefully the next time SF, is being lead by ufa;s it is in the 4th quarter of a preseason gme.

         I could never post all the reasons for such an epic fall. So many things went wrong entire article's would be needed to cover each one. It truely was the overly cliche' (perfect storm.) I really wanted to ponder what will be remembered of this. You have to understand I am 33. I grew up in Montana. I have actually been to Joe Montana really. Around 1990 the little town of Ismail, Mt. temporally changed their name in honor of the greatest qb to ever step onto a football field. In 1984 while watching the big game (Niner's vs. Phins), in the Super Bowl, my family was heavily rooting against those hot shot Californians. That finesse team that does't play the game like it should be played. All exept my beloved favorite uncle Bob. You see when Bob was a youngster, and his two little sister's (rip mom I love you) summer vacation approached they would pack up and leave the rivers, and moutains of Montana, and trade it for the streetcars, ocean view's and China Town. While they spent their summers at their Gramma's in Sanfrancisco. Bob also developed a love of the 49er's which I am thankful was passed onto me.          So becoming a fan in 1984 led to many celebrations. I kew I could count on the Niner's to come through, even if other things didnt quite work out. So while as passionate as a fan as ever for the Niners I wasnt used to losing. Let alone 7 years!

       Some other things I enjoyed was the draft. Until 2004 I never really payed a whole lot of attention, as the team was pretty much set. Drafted players were not expected to start right away on those teams. Now I read mock drafts, as well as buy  magazines on the subject, and now I find draft day one of the most exciting times of he year.          So there is some good, and some bad to come frome the last 7 years, I could go on, but whats the point? The future is now, and the old, looks more like the past. New legand's stand on the cusp of greatness now. Its their time to inspire memories, and I hope they are just as great. I now live in Northern California, and have passed on my love of the Niner's to my nine year old son. He looks forward to once again having the most SuperBowl's in the league. Luckily he is to young to remember all 7 of the last seasons.
