Chiefs Return To Their Roots.
Crisp fall days, hickory smoke, barbeque. and the Kansas City Chiefs.Always a great combination and 2010 will bring Chiefs fans something we have been lacking-wins!
With a year under his belt Todd Haley either figured out he couldn't coach every position or Scott Pioli pulled him aside and informed him of that. Either way with a proven Offensive co-ordinator in Charlie Weiss the Chiefs should translate that into a few more wins by it self. Crennel running the defense and Hall of Famer Emmitt Thomas coaching the best young secondary in the league will translate into more wins as well.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
A few other reasons the Chiefs will be successful in 2010. Number one and something they have sorely lacked is team speed. Charles showed the league his speed in the last eight games of 2009. Twelve hundred yards in eight games is more than quite a feat. Add to that a player I call Lil' Big Mac, or "The Cobbler" (can't keep his own shoes going) and thats a combination in it self let alone adding Thomas Jones to the mix. The Chiefs receiving corp has quietly improved as well. Chambers has a mile or two left, and if Dwayne Bowe doesn't get it by now, the competition this year will certainly give him a lesson. The addition of Jeremy Urban alone upgraded this position, and 4.3 speed means nothing if you can't catch the ball. The Chiefs dropped more passes in 2009 than any NFL team. Moeaki will be a very good TE if he can stay healthy, and Slate, a free agent may be the steal of the off season. The Chiefs running game may be so potent that twenty passes per game will be all that is needed. Did I mention Dexter McCluster? Oh yeah, Lil'Big Mac! (this man is going to be special if he can keep from getting broken in half! He is fast enough to stay out of the way of the monsters on defense, I hope!)
Defense; Ah, well the Chiefs front seven is suspect. But that is where Crennel comes in. Glen Dorsey and Tyson Jackson may just need a size 12 boot placed in a strategic position, and Derrick Johnson, well Johnson could and should be one of the best line backers in the league. Hali made the transition from end to line backer, and is more than adequate. Studebacker and Belcher are showing promise, so the front seven may be better than most think in 2010.
Last but not least, The secondary.
Emmitt Thomas. Without any debate one of the best DBs' to play the game. Just knowing he is your coach will help this area of the team right off the bat. Eric Berry, if he anything like the Chiefs expect then this is a huge up grade.Flowers and Carr are already a good tandem, throw in Berry, Arenas, and Lewis! Wow! SPEED. There it is again, that term the Chiefs have lacked for some time. If the Chiefs can run the ball effectively and catch the ball when needed, and the defense can improve at all ( and they will) then returning to the "roots" of BBQ, as Grigs says "beautiful fall days", a little KC Blues music. and a Chiefs win is coming back, and soon!
