Denny Hamlin Wins Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 At Pocono Raceway
Denny Hamlin who had a dominant car on Sunday especially in the last half of the race after pit stops held off Kyle Busch in a green white checker finish to take his fourth win at Pocono and fourth of 2010 in the Sprint Cup Series. With only 2 laps to go as Hamlin was about to take the white flag, Kevin Harvick got together with Joey Logano in turn 3 causing Logano to spin and a heated argument afterwards. Then on the first attempt at the green white checker finish Hamlin got a good start on the field as Kyle Busch went into the second spot pushing Tony Stewart back to third. Hamlin takes the white flag and on the backstretch going into turn 3, the 43 of AJ Allmendinger looked to have pinched the #9 Ford of Kasey Kahne causing Kahne to turn into the wet grass and head up the track collecting several cars including Greg Biffle, Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and a host of others.
Jamie McMurray who had a runner up finish in Charlotte crashed late in the race when the #6 car of David Ragan got into McMurray going into turn one. Kurt Busch finished in the top 10 after struggling throughout the day coming off two wins at Charlotte.
The Nascar Sprint Cup Series heads to Michigan for the Heluva Good Sour Creme Dips 400 at Michigan International Speedway next Sunday. Kevin Harvick remains atop the Sprint Cup Points Standings with Kyle Busch only 19 points behind.
