Ryan Briscoe Wins Firestone 550K At Texas
Ryan Briscoe won the Firestone 550K at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night, the race seen alot of close racing and wild moves on the track. Ryan Briscoe who finished 24th at Indy won the pole and took his first win of the season for Team Penske on Saturday night. Danica Patrick finished in second and made it two top 5's in a row coming off a sixth place finish at Indianapolis. Andretti Autosport had all four cars in the top 10 and looked strong at Indianapolis last week.
A rough night for several drivers as Helio Castroneves was involved in a accident with Mario Moraes and Bertrand Baguette on the front stretch and Castroneves was angry at Moraes over the incident. Simona De Silvestro was also involved in a very scary crash when the car hit the wall came off the bank in turn 3 and 4 and caught on fire, it was a struggle to get her out of the car but she only suffered a burn to her hand. Takuma Sato also had a hard crash off turn 2 and Jay Howard suffered mechanical failure at Texas.
