Main Event: Chris “The Assassin” Lozano vs. Jason “Dynamite” Dent
The pre-fight hype video lays out the rivalry between these two fighters and their respective gyms. Lozano represents StrongStyle MMA and Dent fights for his own GriffonRawl gym. Lozano is on a four-fight streak where he has won all by knockout. Dent has never been knocked out.
The GriffonRawl faithful escort their coach and training partner to the cage. Dent is clad in red and white trunks, that not only show off his sponsor Intimidation Clothing, but also your favorite source for MMA news and reviews, the one, the only profighting-fans.com .
As predicted, the StrongStyle team walks Lozano to the cage. One sign in the crowd plays up Lozano’s nickname by claiming “Lee Harvey Oswald don’t have nothing on Chris Lozano.”
This main event is for the night has the crowd divided as a good percentage are cheering (and conversely booing) for each fighter. Regardless of the outcome, the crowd is ready for a brawl.
Jason Dent is the NAAFS Lightweight champ while Lozano is the Middleweight champ.
It’s time to rock and roll.
Dent’s head is stationary as they trade to start the fight. Lozano’s is showing non-stop movement. Lozano is throwing some heavy shots and Dent is telling him to bring it on. Lozano is mixing in some body kicks while Dent is throwing leg kicks.
Lozano goes for a spinning back kick, slips, and Dent lets him up. Lozano is throwing some heavy head kicks while peppering in the jab. Dent is taking everything Lozano throws at him.
There is a huge flurry to end the round with both fighters landing solid blows. Dent is encouraging Lozano to bring it on. I’ll give round one to Lozano 10-9 on the strength of his number of strikes.
Dent is keeping his hands very low when Lozano is back at a distance, maybe not a great gameplan against a quick striker. Both fighters are landing solid shots and neither seems rattled. These are two tough and experienced fighters. Dent kicks to the body and Lozano catches it and drives Dent into the cage, which Dent reverses.
They escape and take it back to the center of the cage. Dent is eating jab after jab and is cut on his right eye. Lozano is throwing strong kicks which Dent is now checking every time. dent is leg kicking Lozano and stumbled Lozano on two occasions. Lozano’s left leg (lead leg) is welted and he looks like it is bothering him. Round two to Dent 10-9.
Round Three. Lozano lands a superman punch while Dent continues to assault Lozano’s lead leg with leg kicks. Lozano is now alternating between southpaw and orthodox stances to protect the left leg. Dent is still urging Lozano on. More leg kicks from Det followed by a Dent superman punch.
Lozan is less aggressive this round than others. Spinning back kick from Dent and Lozano is still standing tough. Dent is really trying to kick Lozano’s leg out and is now mixing in outside leg kicks . Lozano lands a solid shot and knocks Dent down. Lozano is throwing bombs as time runs out. that knockdown may have won the round for Lozano.
Round Four. Both land heavy shots, Lozano knocks Dent down, throws heavy hands, and a knee to the head. the referee stops the fight. Maybe taking away a point from Lozano. The doctor is now in the cage to take a look at Dent (check his alertness). Update. Lozano is just warned for the knee to the head of the downed opponent.
The fighters appear to be ready to roll, but there is some dispute in the cage with the ruling. Let’s hope this doesn’t ruin the fast pace of this fight, as this has been a slugfest. Dent tells Lozano’s corner that he is okay and wants to continue. There is no quit in either fighter. Back to action. Dent’s hands are very low.
Lozano lands a solid uppercut to Dent’s chin. Dent lands some nice shots and appears to be stalking Lozano. Lozano works his way out of the corner with a backfist that cuts Den’t in the hairline. Lozano catches a legkick and drops into Dent’s guard. Dent works his way to his feet and the round ends with both fighters trading punches. Lozano takes the round due to the knockdown.
Between rounds the doctor took a look at the cuts on Dent and it appears that this fight is over. Chris Lozano is your winner in the NAAFS superfight due to doctor’s stoppage.
What a fight to end the night! Those are two brawlers that did not show an ounce of quit. The trophy is presented to Lozano and though the fighters are rivals as are their gyms, you cannot dispute the heart and willpower each man showed. In addition, each fighter showed a sturdy chin as both absorbed many tough shots and kept on coming forward.
Lozano lauds Dent as the “toughest dude he’s ever fought.” Dent praises Lozano as a tough striker and congratulates Chris, wishing him the best of luck in the future.
