Ryan Briscoe Scores Firestone 550K Pole At Texas

Ryan Briscoe won the Peak Pole Award in qualifying on Friday for the Firestone 550K on Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Briscoe who finished 24th after crashing in the Indy 500 comes into Texas looking for his first win of the season after scoring several wins and finishing runner up in the Championship last season. Helio Castroneves is the defending race winner at Texas.

Tomas Scheckter will replace Mike Conway in the Dreyer and Reinbold Racing #24 car at Texas after Conway suffered injuries in a crash in the final laps of the Indy 500. Scott Dixon was fastest in Friday practice with another practice set for tonight following qualifying.
